At 55 years of age Rosemary had the unpleasant side effect of weight gain during HRT treatment which is not uncommon. However, when her treatment stopped her weight did not improve and at 14 stone with a BMI of 31 she was in the obese category with significant health problems as a result. This spurred her on to join our online dieting site and she has since managed to lose 3 stone 12lbs with our Springfresh diet plan.

Here is Rosemary’s story…

How much weight have you lost? I started at 14 stone with a BMI of 31 and I have now reached my target weight of 10 stone 2lbs with a healthy BMI of 22. I was previously size 18/20 and I am now fitting into a size 10!

What diet plan did you follow? The recipe-based spring fresh diet plan.

Was your weight causing you any problems? Being overweight was contributing to degenerative changes in my joints especially my knees which were very painful and causing a loss of mobility. I did not enjoy shopping for clothes as it was difficult to find any that didn’t emphasise my size.

What difference has losing weight made to you?
My joint pains have eased and it’s so much easier to go clothes shopping!

Have you enjoyed your online diet plan? It has given me the information & confidence to change my eating patterns for the better. I like the fact that it was very private; just me, the scales & my computer. Only my partner knew what was happening until my weight loss was apparent.

Tell us about your diet before you joined us, and how has your diet changed as a result? I now eat less comfort food such as chocolate and cake and I have a more balanced diet. Previously, I was matching my partner’s portions sizes but my diet plan has helped me to reduce these. My new dietary habits are not just temporary they are now a part of my life!

How have your family and friends reacted to your weight loss? My partner has been very supportive and is really pleased for me.

Do you feel confident about maintaining your weight loss? I didn’t at first but I have maintained my target weight or just below for 3 months so I am feeling more confident now.

Any other tips you would like to share with fellow dieters? Using tracker bars for a snack in the evening has replaced my reliance on chocolate as comfort food! It's not really about dieting but changes in life style and eating patterns.
